Speculation surrounding the postponed wedding of cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has intensified, prompting a family member to publicly defend him. The couple was scheduled to tie the knot on November 23, but the celebrations were halted due to health concerns regarding Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana.

Since the announcement, unverified allegations claiming that Palash cheated on Smriti have circulated widely, particularly on social media platforms. The situation escalated after an Instagram user named Mary D’Costa shared screenshots purportedly depicting private conversations with Palash. These images were subsequently posted on Reddit and continued to spread, even after the user’s account was deactivated, further fuelling speculation about the couple’s relationship.

Family Member Steps In to Defend Palash

In light of the growing rumours, Palash’s cousin, Neeti Tak, took to her Instagram Stories to defend him. She urged the public to refrain from making judgments based on unverified claims, stating, “Palash is going through a critical condition today; you all should not judge Palash as wrong without knowing the truth.” She called for compassion, emphasizing the impact of technology on public perceptions and encouraging people to pray for him during this difficult time.

According to a report by the Hindustan Times, Palash is currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Mumbai. His sister, Palak Muchhal, also confirmed the postponement of the wedding on Instagram, appealing for privacy for both families. Her statement noted the necessity of the decision, saying, “Due to Smriti’s father’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. We would request all of you to respect the privacy of the families during this sensitive time.”

Health Concerns and Their Impact

The wedding was postponed after Shrinivas Mandhana was rushed to Sarvhit Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Sangli on the originally planned wedding day due to symptoms resembling a heart attack. Just a day later, Palash himself was admitted to a hospital in Sangli. His mother, Amita Muchhal, indicated that the stress from the situation significantly affected Palash’s health. She recounted, “Since haldi was done, we didn’t let him go outside. Rote rote ek dum tabiyat karab ho gai. 4 ghante hospital mein rakhna padha… Sab normal aaye but stress bahut hai.” Amita noted that Palash shares a close bond with Smriti’s father and insisted on postponing the wedding rituals until Shrinivas’s health improved.

In the midst of these developments, fans have noticed that Smriti has deleted all posts related to the wedding from her Instagram account, which has only added to the swirling speculation about their relationship.

Smriti and Palash began their relationship in 2019, maintaining a low profile until they publicly acknowledged their romance in July 2024, celebrating their fifth anniversary with a shared post.

As the families navigate these health emergencies and the mounting online chatter, they continue to call for privacy and understanding from the public during this challenging time.
