Domus Academy Unveils New Master’s Programs in Design and AI
Domus Academy, based in Milan, has announced the launch of two innovative Master’s programs aimed at addressing the pressing challenges posed by the rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into various industries. The new programs, the Master in Design x AI and the Master in Design Futures, are designed to equip students with the necessary skills to navigate the evolving landscape shaped by technological advancements.
According to the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, by 2030, AI and information-processing technologies are expected to influence 86% of companies, emerging as a key factor in transforming business models and job roles. Despite this trend, there is a significant gap between the pace of AI adoption and the current educational offerings. This gap underscores the urgent need for professionals who can effectively merge technology, design, innovation, and social responsibility.
Master in Design x AI
The Master in Design x AI program focuses on creating AI-powered products and services, emphasizing ethical considerations and social responsibility. Students will be trained to foster meaningful interactions between humans and machines, exploring innovative ways to connect beyond conventional interfaces. Potential career paths for graduates include roles such as Interaction Designer, AI Researcher, Design Strategist, and AI Product Expert.
Master in Design Futures
In contrast, the Master in Design Futures program introduces methodologies that encourage forward-thinking, such as Speculative Design, Design Fiction, Critical Design, and Experiential Futures. This curriculum aims to guide students in envisioning and articulating scenarios that have yet to materialize. Graduates may pursue careers as Futures Researchers, Strategic Designers, Innovation Leads, or Service Designers.
Both Master’s programs are accredited by the Italian Ministry of University and Research and confer 60 ECTS credits upon completion. The first cohort is set to begin in Autumn 2026. Prospective students can apply for scholarships by submitting their applications or project proposals by March 13, 2026.
Domus Academy prides itself on fostering an open and interdisciplinary environment where future designers can collaborate with avant-garde companies. The institution’s distinctive Learning by Designing methodology combines academic knowledge with practical experiences, allowing students to develop creative solutions for future challenges. This innovative approach positions graduates for successful careers in the creative industries.
The academy offers a comprehensive range of programs, including Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts, all recognized by the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research. In a survey conducted in 2025, it was reported that 91% of graduates secured employment within a year of completing their studies.
Domus Academy’s reputation extends globally, having received prestigious accolades such as the Compasso d’Oro Award and The Business of Fashion’s Badge of Excellence in Learning Experience. In 2025, it was ranked among the top 30 fashion schools worldwide by CEOWORLD Magazine and is featured in various prominent international rankings, including QS (Art & Design), UI GreenMetric, and THE Impact Rankings.
