Qatar Prepares to Host FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2025 in Doha
The Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025 has confirmed its readiness to host the tournament’s final three matches in Doha. This announcement was made during a press conference held on October 15, 2023, highlighting Qatar’s capacity to manage major sporting events effectively.
Key Details of the Tournament
The matches will take place at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium on December 10, 13, and 17, 2025, coinciding with the rest days of the ongoing FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025. This strategic scheduling aims to further demonstrate Qatar’s commitment to showcasing world-class football and to enhance international confidence in the country’s hosting capabilities.
Interest in the event is reportedly high among fans both regionally and globally. Hassan Al Kuwari, Executive Director of Marketing, Promotion and Commercial at the LOC, expressed enthusiasm about Qatar’s role in advancing football. He stated, “Qatar’s commitment to hosting world-class tournaments stems from our belief in advancing football at every level.” He emphasized the importance of strengthening competition within the GCC region and uniting the Arab world through the Arab Cup.
Roberto Grassi, FIFA Tournament Lead, also commented on the collaboration with Qatar, stating, “We believe in Qatar’s ability to deliver the best tournaments in the world using world-class infrastructure.” He acknowledged the strong partnership with the LOC and expressed anticipation for the upcoming edition of the Intercontinental Cup.
Accessibility and Ticket Information
For fans attending the tournament, the Doha Metro will be free for ticket holders on December 17, when the final match will feature Paris Saint-Germain against the winner of the FIFA Challenger Cup Qatar 2025. The metro system will offer direct access to Ahmad bin Ali Stadium via the Al Riffa Metro Station (Green Line), ensuring comprehensive accessibility services throughout the competition.
Visitors to Qatar are encouraged to explore the country’s vibrant cultural and entertainment offerings during their stay. Tickets for the matches can be purchased at www.roadtoqatar.qa, and all tickets will be digital, featuring accessible seating options for disabled fans. Requests for accessible seats can be made by emailing [email protected]. Pricing for accessibility tickets starts from QAR 20, with a maximum of six tickets available per person for each match.
