Harcourts Dancing for Hospice Returns to Rotorua on September 19
Harcourts Dancing for Hospice will make its anticipated return to Rotorua on September 19, 2024, bringing a fresh energy to this beloved event. The dancing competition, which has captured the hearts of the community, is now set to occur biennially, according to the Rotorua Community Hospice.
Last year, the hospice announced the decision to transition the event to a biennial format. This change allows for a refreshed approach to the fundraising efforts, enabling the organization to concentrate its resources and creativity into creating a more impactful experience. In place of the flagship event, the hospice successfully hosted a smaller-scale gala called Harcourts Vegas Showtime in August, which still maintained a sense of glamour and community spirit.
Jessica Meade, the fundraising and marketing manager for Rotorua Community Hospice, expressed enthusiasm about the success of the Vegas Showtime event. “It was really successful,” she stated, reflecting on the positive feedback received from attendees. This smaller event provided an opportunity to engage the community in a different way while still raising much-needed funds for hospice services.
The upcoming Harcourts Dancing for Hospice promises to be a highlight in Rotorua’s event calendar. The Energy Events Centre will serve as the vibrant backdrop for this year’s competition, where participants will showcase their dancing talents in support of a noble cause. The community is expected to come together to cheer on their favourite performers, making it a lively and engaging night.
As anticipation builds, the hospice organization encourages local businesses and individuals to participate and support this significant event. The funds raised will directly benefit the hospice’s operations, allowing them to continue providing essential care and support to individuals and families facing end-of-life challenges.
The biennial switch aims to rejuvenate the event while also ensuring that it continues to resonate deeply within the community. With the combination of dancing, entertainment, and philanthropy, Harcourts Dancing for Hospice is poised to deliver an unforgettable evening that celebrates both talent and compassion.
Mark your calendars for September 19, and prepare to witness the joy and dedication of dancers coming together for a meaningful cause. The event not only highlights the vibrant culture of Rotorua but also underscores the community’s commitment to supporting hospice care.
