Qatar Set to Host FIFA Intercontinental Cup Final Matches in December

Qatar will host the final three matches of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2025 in December, as announced by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and FIFA. The event will feature clubs competing for prestigious trophies, including the FIFA Derby of the Americas, the FIFA Challenger Cup, and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, with matches scheduled for December 10, 13, and 17, 2025.
Exciting Match Schedule and Venue Details
The matches will take place in Doha, with the iconic Lusail Stadium serving as the venue. This stadium, which has a capacity of 80,000, previously hosted the final of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The first match on December 10 will feature the winners of the Concacaf Champions Cup 2025, Cruz Azul from Mexico, facing the winners of the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores 2025. Following that, on December 13, Pyramids FC from Egypt, champions of the CAF Champions League 2025, will compete against the winner of the first match.
The tournament will culminate on December 17 with the FIFA Intercontinental Cup clash, where the UEFA Champions League 2025 champions, Paris Saint-Germain, will take on the victor of the FIFA Challenger Cup match.
Qatar’s Commitment to Hosting Major Events
This edition of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup adds to a packed schedule of world-class football in Qatar. The country is also preparing to host the FIFA U-17 World Cup from November 3 to 27, 2025, and the FIFA Arab Cup from December 1 to 18, 2025. The Intercontinental Cup will take place during the rest days of the Arab Cup, emphasizing Qatar’s capability to manage multiple significant sporting events concurrently.
All tournament venues will be well-connected to public transportation systems, ensuring accessibility for all fans, including those with disabilities. This focus on inclusivity highlights Qatar’s ongoing commitment to providing a welcoming experience for all attendees.
As the countdown to December begins, the anticipation for the matches grows, promising an exciting conclusion to the 2025 football season on a global stage in Qatar.
