Qatar Basketball Federation Reveals Team for FIBA Asia Cup 2025

The Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) has announced the official roster of the Qatar National Basketball Team for the upcoming 31st edition of the FIBA Asia Cup. The tournament is set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from August 5 to 17, 2025. Sixteen national teams from across Asia will compete for the championship title.
Team Roster and Management
The final roster consists of 12 players, including notable names such as Brandon Goodwin, Alen Hadzibegovic, and Tyler Harris. The complete list of players includes:

- Tyler Harris
- Adji Magassa
- Omar Saad
- Mustafa Ndaw
- Mohamed Bashir
- Babacar Dieng

- Mahmoud Darwish
Leading the delegation is Saadoun Sabah Al Kuwari, General Secretary of the QBF and Director of National Teams. He will be joined by Jassim Ibrahim Ashkanani, Team Manager, and Nabil Juma, Assistant Manager.
Coaching and Competition Format
The team will be guided by Turkish coach Hakan Demir, supported by assistant coaches Cengiz Karadag, Abdo Sou, Attila Yapcilar, and Mohamed Fural. Health and fitness will be overseen by the medical team, which includes Dr. Adel Salem, Dr. Adel Hormia, and physiotherapist Nikasio Sagayno.
Following the tournament draw, Qatar has been placed in Group A, where they will face tough competitors including Australia, South Korea, and Lebanon. The team’s first match is scheduled against South Korea on August 6, followed by games against Lebanon on August 8 and Australia on August 10.
The tournament will follow a group-stage format, with the top team from each group advancing directly to the quarterfinals. Teams finishing in second and third place will enter crossover knockout matches to determine the remaining quarter-finalists.
The QBF is optimistic about the team’s chances and aims to make a significant impact in this prestigious tournament. The competition will showcase the best of Asian basketball, and Qatar is poised to demonstrate its growing prowess on the international stage.
