The new Māori Queen, Te Arikinui Nga wai hono i te po, delivered her first public address on September 22, 2023, at the Tūrangawaewae Marae in Ngāruawāhia. This momentous occasion marks a significant transition in leadership following the passing of her father, Kīngi Tūheitia Potatau Te Wherowhero, one year ago.
