As the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 approaches, the UAE U-17 national team is making final preparations for a tournament that promises to showcase the potential of youth football on a global stage. The competition will run from November 3 to November 27 and marks the first FIFA World Cup featuring 48 teams, with Qatar set to host five consecutive editions through 2029.

UAE Team’s Group Challenge

Competing in Group C, the UAE will face formidable opponents including Senegal, Croatia, and Costa Rica. Their first match is scheduled for November 3 at Aspire Park’s Pitch 8 against Costa Rica. For many young Emirati players, this tournament represents the culmination of a lifelong dream.

Goalkeeper Jassim Al Hammadi expressed his excitement about playing in Qatar, a country that recently hosted a historic FIFA World Cup. He stated, “As a fan, it was a wonderful experience to watch the World Cup in Qatar. Now, being able to play and train in the same facilities used by Messi and Ronaldo is really exciting.” Al Hammadi added, “We take great responsibility and pride in playing at the U-17 World Cup. I want to give my best for the UAE and aim to play for the first team in the future.”

Teammate Abdulrahman Al Awani is also eager to make an impact. “This is the first major tournament I will be playing in. I am confident we will do well. I hope to make my family and country proud. Football means everything to me,” he remarked.

Assistant coach and former UAE player Nawaf Mubarak has been impressed by Qatar’s preparations. He noted, “Qatar hosted an amazing World Cup and showed its capabilities to the world. The sporting infrastructure is impressive. The country is beautiful. Everything from hotels to stadiums and transportation is world-class.”

Mubarak outlined the team’s ambitions, stating, “In this World Cup, we hope to advance as far as possible and showcase to the world the true potential of our country as strong contenders in international football.”

The tournament will feature a unique format, with all 104 matches taking place at the Aspire Zone’s Competition Complex. Tickets will be digital, with Day Passes priced at QAR 20, allowing fans to attend multiple matches throughout the day while enjoying cultural and entertainment activities. Supporters of the Qatar National Team can also purchase the Follow My Team package to watch every group stage match.
