Commercial Bank Partners with PMI to Enhance Project Excellence

Commercial Bank, a prominent player in innovative digital banking, has established a strategic partnership with the Project Management Institute (PMI), marking it as the first bank in the Middle East and North Africa to do so. The partnership was formalized at a ceremony held at the bank’s headquarters in Doha.
Strengthening Project Management Capabilities
This collaboration allows Commercial Bank to become a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP). It aims to enhance the bank’s ability to deliver comprehensive capability-building programs by integrating PMI’s certifications and memberships into its training framework. The partnership will leverage PMI’s expertise and resources to improve internal project and program delivery.
Project professionals within the bank will gain access to specialized knowledge, advanced tools, and valuable networking opportunities, which are crucial for career development in the evolving financial sector. The partnership is expected to create significant benefits for those looking to advance their skills in project management.
Representatives from PMI, including Hanny Alshazly, Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa, and Sima Qafiti, Head of Partnerships, met with Commercial Bank’s Group CEO, Stephen Moss, along with other senior executives, to discuss the implications and potential of this strategic alliance.
Collaborative Efforts and Future Goals
In addition to training, the partnership seeks to enhance the exchange of best practices and co-development of case studies and publications. This initiative will provide a platform for Commercial Bank to showcase its thought leadership at regional and global PMI events, while also exploring PMI’s involvement in the bank’s initiatives.
Stephen Moss emphasized the bank’s commitment to setting new standards in professional development, stating, “Commercial Bank is dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous learning and driving strategic impact. We are proud to partner with PMI, a leader in advancing the project management profession since 1969. This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation as we work to equip our teams with essential skills for operational success.”
Hanny Alshazly remarked on the significance of this partnership, highlighting that “As the first bank to become a PMI Authorized Training Partner, Commercial Bank demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing professional capabilities within the financial sector. This aligns fully with the Qatar National Vision 2030 for economic diversification and sustainable growth.”
The partnership is expected to deliver strategic benefits, enhancing the professional management and execution of projects and portfolios, ultimately driving impactful outcomes within the region.
