Qatar Triumphs Over Lebanon to Secure Semifinal Spot in Volleyball Championship
Qatar has advanced to the semifinals of the inaugural West Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship, held in Manama, Bahrain, following a commanding straight-set victory over Lebanon on March 14, 2024. The match concluded with scores of 25-17, 25-15, and 25-13, showcasing Qatar’s dominance throughout the tournament.
With this win, Qatar has extended its winning streak, having performed strongly in the group stage. The team finished at the top of Group B, securing three consecutive victories to progress to the knockout phase.
Path to the Semifinals
Qatar commenced its championship journey with an impressive 3-0 win against Saudi Arabia. This was followed by a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Oman. The group stage concluded with a challenging match against Kuwait, which ended in a narrow 3-2 win for Qatar.
In addition to Qatar’s success, other teams have also made their mark in the quarterfinals. Both Saudi Arabia and Oman secured semifinal spots, each winning their matches against Jordan and the UAE with scores of 3-0. The final quarterfinal match between Bahrain and Kuwait was still underway at the time of reporting.
