South Korean Basketball Delegation Completes Doha Visit

A delegation from the South Korean Basketball Federation concluded their official visit to Doha, Qatar, on March 15, 2024, with an educational tour of the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum. This visit aimed to strengthen sports cooperation and explore Qatar’s advanced sports infrastructure.
Exploring Qatar’s Sports Legacy
Led by Kwon Hyuk-woon, President of the South Korean Basketball Federation, the delegation included Jung Jae-young, Secretary-General, and several senior officials. They engaged in a comprehensive itinerary that highlighted Qatar’s notable achievements in sports.
During the museum tour, the group learned about the history of Qatari, Arab, and international sports. They explored sections dedicated to the evolution of various sports and Qatar’s accomplishments in hosting major international events, particularly the landmark 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The museum, directed by Abdullah Yousuf Al Mulla, houses an impressive collection of rare artifacts from the Olympic Games and other significant sporting events. The exhibits cover a wide range of topics, including the development of Qatar’s sports infrastructure and modern facility management technologies.
Strengthening Bilateral Ties
The visit was part of a broader official program that included technical meetings between the Qatari and South Korean basketball federations. Discussions focused on enhancing collaborative efforts in areas such as coach development, expertise exchange, and organizing friendly matches between national teams and clubs.
