Black Ferns Aim for Redemption Against France in World Cup Playoff

The Black Ferns are set to face France in the third-place playoff of the Women’s Rugby World Cup after their bid to defend their title ended in a semifinal defeat to Canada. The match will take place at Twickenham on Saturday night, where the world No 3 ranking will be at stake.
Director of performance Allan Bunting has confirmed that the team is in good health, with the return of young talents Jorja Miller and Laura Bayfield to the starting lineup. Both players had missed the semifinal match due to undisclosed injuries but have been cleared to compete.
Miller, who plays openside flanker, and Bayfield, a lock, will be making their presence felt as they step back into the match-day squad. Their inclusion marks the only changes to the starting XV, with Bayfield replacing Alana Bremner on the bench and Miller taking the No 7 jersey, pushing Kennedy Tukuafu out of the 23-player roster.
The Black Ferns, known for their strong performance in women’s rugby, now focus on finishing the tournament on a high note. The match against France presents an opportunity to reclaim some pride after their disappointing exit in the semifinals.
As the team prepares for this critical match, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see how the returning players impact the game. With a wealth of talent and experience on the field, the Black Ferns aim to secure a victory that would not only enhance their standing but also serve as a strong statement as they look to the future of women’s rugby.
Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT, making it an unmissable event for rugby fans around the world. The outcome of this playoff will ultimately determine the final rankings for the tournament, adding to the stakes of this already significant match.
