Excitement Builds for the Kaiapoi Christmas Parade Festivities

The annual Kaiapoi Christmas Parade promises a day of festive cheer and family fun on December 9, 2023. The celebrations will commence at 9:30 AM at Kaiapoi Park, located on Smith Street, and continue until 3:30 PM. The highlight of the event, the much-anticipated Toyota Santa Parade, will kick off at 1:30 PM from Dale Street, drawing attendees from across the region.

Organized by the Kaiapoi Promotions Association, the event invites both residents and visitors to partake in a variety of activities designed to engage the whole family. The McAlpines Mega Mitre10 Free Family Fun Zone will feature an array of attractions, including inflatables, go-karts, and mini golf, ensuring that children have a safe and enjoyable space to play.

Visitors can indulge their appetites in the International Food Alley, which will showcase a diverse selection of culinary delights. With over 100 craft stalls available, attendees will have plenty of opportunities to shop for unique gifts and fill their Christmas stockings. Young entrepreneurs under the age of 13 will also present stalls, offering festive treats and handmade items.

In addition to the shopping and dining options, the KGF Community Green will serve as a central gathering place, featuring live entertainment throughout the day. From 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, street performers will captivate audiences, culminating in the arrival of Santa Claus at 12:30 PM, just prior to the parade’s commencement.

The parade itself will start at Dale Street at 1:30 PM, winding through nearby streets and providing a delightful spectacle for all to enjoy. Proceeds from the day’s festivities will support Wellbeing North Canterbury, reinforcing the event’s community focus.

As the celebrations draw to a close at 3:30 PM, attendees can conveniently park at a designated area in Wylie Park. Parking will cost $5 per vehicle, with payment options available in cash or via eftpos. The funds collected will contribute to keeping the Family Fun Zone accessible for families.
