Qatar’s Youth Athletics Team Heads to Tunis for Arab Championship

Qatar’s national youth athletics team is preparing to compete in the 11th Arab U-18 Athletics Championships, scheduled for August 23-27, 2025, in the Tunisian capital, Tunis. The event will feature a robust representation from various countries across the Arab world.

The Qatari delegation will be led by Mohammed Issa Al Fadala, President of the Qatar Athletics Federation. The team is set to depart for Tunisia tomorrow, eager to showcase their skills and secure commendable results that reflect the aspirations of Qatari athletics.

Promising Talents Representing Qatar

The delegation comprises a talented group of ten athletes, each poised to compete in a range of track and field events. Among them are Idris Abkar and Hussein Mohammed, who will participate in the 110m hurdles. Mubarak Saeed is set to compete in the 1500m, while Samer Hussein will take on the 400m.

Timo Jumaa will challenge himself in both the 100m and 200m hurdles, alongside Saleh Mahmoud, who will compete in the shot put and discus throw. Additionally, Younes Al Baloushi and Abdullah Al Abdullah will represent Qatar in the pole vault.
