Commercial Bank Launches Visa Commercial Pay for SMEs in Qatar

Commercial Bank has made a significant advancement in the banking sector by launching Visa Commercial Pay (VCP), a virtual payment platform aimed at transforming how Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Qatar manage their payments. This initiative positions Commercial Bank as the first institution in Qatar to offer this innovative solution specifically designed for SMEs, enhancing the landscape of B2B transactions.
Revolutionizing B2B Payments
The introduction of Visa Commercial Pay is tailored exclusively for holders of Commercial Bank’s SME Visa business credit cards. This platform enables secure, automated, and highly controlled corporate transactions, allowing businesses to make card payments directly to their suppliers’ accounts. This launch underscores Commercial Bank’s dedication to advancing digital payment solutions for the business community in Qatar.
Leveraging state-of-the-art virtual card technology, the Visa Commercial Pay platform generates unique virtual account numbers for each transaction. This feature significantly mitigates fraud risks and enhances financial control for SMEs. Businesses can customize payment parameters, including merchant categories, geographical restrictions, and spending limits, all managed through an intuitive digital portal.
Enhanced Control and Integration
The Visa Commercial Pay platform seamlessly integrates with existing systems and digital wallets, such as Apple Pay, which facilitates instant, traceable payments accompanied by comprehensive remittance information. The inclusion of real-time dashboards allows companies to monitor strategic spending analytics and ensure compliance with their financial policies.
Shahnawaz Rashid, Executive General Manager and Head of Retail Banking at Commercial Bank, emphasized the importance of optimizing cash flow in Qatar’s dynamic economy. He stated, “By replacing manual processes with intelligent automation through Visa Commercial Pay, we’re empowering businesses to reallocate resources from administrative tasks to growth initiatives.”
Shashank Singh, Vice President and General Manager for Qatar and Kuwait at Visa, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, noting, “The introduction of Visa Commercial Pay with Commercial Bank offers SMEs a more efficient and secure way to manage their payments and expenses.” He reaffirmed Visa’s commitment to collaborating with Commercial Bank to tailor solutions that support the digital transformation of local businesses and meet the evolving needs of Qatar’s digital economy.
Eligible SME clients can now activate the Visa Commercial Pay service through their relationship managers, marking another step in Commercial Bank’s mission to provide future-ready financial tools for businesses in Qatar.
