Commercial Bank Partners with PMI to Enhance Project Management

Commercial Bank, a prominent leader in digital banking solutions, has established a strategic partnership with the Project Management Institute (PMI), marking a significant milestone as the first bank in the Middle East and North Africa to do so. The partnership was formalized during a ceremony at the bank’s headquarters in Doha.
Collaboration to Drive Project Excellence
This collaboration allows Commercial Bank to become a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP), which will enhance its capability-building programs through the integration of PMI’s certifications and memberships. By leveraging PMI’s resources and expertise, the bank aims to strengthen its internal program and project delivery.
As part of the partnership, Commercial Bank will gain access to specialized knowledge, advanced tools, and valuable networking opportunities. These resources are particularly beneficial for project professionals looking to advance their careers within the evolving financial sector.
During the signing ceremony, PMI’s regional leadership, including Hanny Alshazly, Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa, and other key officials met with Stephen Moss, Group Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Bank, among other executives. Their discussions focused on enhancing the exchange of best practices and co-developing case studies and publications.
Commitment to Professional Development
The partnership will also foster collaborative efforts, allowing Commercial Bank to demonstrate its thought leadership at regional and global PMI events. Additionally, it will explore opportunities for PMI’s involvement in the bank’s initiatives.
Stephen Moss expressed pride in the partnership, stating, “Commercial Bank is dedicated to setting new benchmarks in professional development, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and driving strategic impact. This collaboration reflects our continued commitment to excellence and innovation, as we strive to equip our teams with the required skills for operational success.”
Hanny Alshazly emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “As the first bank to become a PMI Authorized Training Partner, Commercial Bank demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing professional capabilities within the financial sector—fully aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030 for economic diversification and sustainable growth.”
The partnership is expected to deliver strategic benefits by strengthening the management and execution of projects and portfolios, ultimately driving impact at scale through world-class project management excellence.
