City Medical Rebrands as Napier Urgent Care, Services Unchanged

City Medical will rebrand as Napier Urgent Care, effective March 11, 2024, while assuring the community that services will remain unchanged. The rebranding follows the amalgamation of City Medical with The Doctors earlier this year. This new name reflects the collaborative efforts of seven out of eight general practices in Napier, further integrating healthcare services within the region.
The facility operates from 08:00 to 20:00, with a nurse-led service provided overnight by Health New Zealand from 20:00 to 08:00. The rebranding will feature a new logo, updated signage, and a revised website, which is set to become the primary means of communication with the Napier community.
Ken Foote, chair of the consortium, emphasized that the rebranding aligns with the centre’s role in Napier’s integrated health network. The new website will offer timely information regarding potential delays and any impacts on clinical services, ensuring that the public remains well-informed. Foote stated, “The rebranding better reflects our commitment to delivering responsive and accessible healthcare in Napier.”
The Napier Urgent Care facility, known originally as Napier Medical Centre when it opened its doors on Wellesley Road in 1999, aims to enhance its visibility and reach within the community. This change comes amidst a broader effort to streamline healthcare services and improve patient access in the area.
As Napier Urgent Care steps into this new chapter, the focus will remain on providing quality healthcare to residents, ensuring that the community continues to receive the same level of service it has come to expect. The updated branding aims not only to modernize the facility’s image but also to reinforce its commitment to the health and well-being of the Napier population.
