Giuffre Family Criticizes Met Police After Inquiry Into Andrew Ends
Virginia Giuffre’s family has expressed strong disapproval following the decision by the Metropolitan Police to discontinue its investigation into allegations against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The inquiry focused on claims that Mountbatten-Windsor attempted to discredit Giuffre by sharing her confidential information with police.
The family alleges that the Metropolitan Police concluded the investigation without consulting them. This assertion was revealed in a report by the Telegraph. In October 2023, a leaked email indicated that Mountbatten-Windsor had requested his police bodyguard, funded by taxpayers, to investigate Giuffre. He reportedly provided the bodyguard with her date of birth and social security number.
According to the leaked correspondence, Mountbatten-Windsor informed Ed Perkins, who served as deputy press secretary to Queen Elizabeth II, about his actions. He indicated that he had asked one of his personal protection officers to gather information on Giuffre.
Despite these serious allegations, the Metropolitan Police has concluded its assessment, stating that no further evidence of criminal activity was found. The decision to close the inquiry has drawn criticism from Giuffre’s family, who feel that their input was disregarded in this significant matter.
The case has garnered considerable attention due to the high-profile nature of those involved and the serious implications of the allegations. Giuffre has been a prominent figure in discussions surrounding allegations of sexual abuse and has been vocal about her experiences.
As the investigation has now officially ended, it remains unclear what steps, if any, Giuffre’s family will take in response to the Metropolitan Police’s findings. The situation highlights ongoing debates about accountability and transparency within law enforcement agencies, particularly in cases involving public figures.
