Jessie J Cancels US Tour and Postpones Europe Dates for Surgery

Jessie J has cancelled her upcoming US tour and postponed her European performances to undergo further treatment for breast cancer. The 37-year-old singer announced this decision following her recent mastectomy, which she revealed in June 2023. In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, she stated that she requires a second surgery, which, although not deemed “too serious,” must be completed before the end of the year.
In her video, Jessie J explained her situation to her fans, saying, “As some of you may know, I just had breast cancer surgery eight weeks ago, that’s the first thing. The second thing is unfortunately I have to have a second surgery.” She expressed regret over the timing, noting that the surgery conflicts with her scheduled tour dates in both the US and Europe.
Performances in the US were set to kick off in early December 2023, while European dates were planned for the following months. Given the necessary medical procedure, Jessie J felt it was essential to prioritize her health over her performance commitments. She emphasized that while the surgery is important, she is optimistic about her recovery and future performances.
The singer, known for hits like “Price Tag,” has been open about her health challenges, using her platform to raise awareness about breast cancer. Fans have rallied in support, expressing their understanding of her situation and wishing her a swift recovery.
Jessie J’s decision to cancel her tour highlights the challenges faced by artists balancing health issues with their professional obligations. As she focuses on her recovery, she has assured fans that she intends to return to the stage once her health allows.
In light of her announcement, ticket holders for the US tour will receive further updates regarding refunds and rescheduling options. Jessie’s commitment to her fans remains strong, and she hopes to share more music and performances in the future once she is fully recovered.
As she navigates through this difficult time, her resilience and transparency continue to inspire many.
