Qatar’s U-21 3×3 Basketball Teams Kick Off European Campaign

Qatar’s under-21 men’s and women’s 3×3 basketball teams are primed to begin their participation in the fourth leg of the U21 European Nations League for Youth in Debrecen, Hungary, starting today. This tournament features national teams from several countries, including France, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Hungary, and Romania.
Heading the Qatari delegation is Yassin Ismail, the Director of National 3×3 Basketball Teams, with support from Coach Marco. The men’s team is competing in Group 2 and will kick off their matches against Romania today, followed by a clash with the Czech Republic later in the day.
The roster for the men’s team includes players Mohamed Hashem, Sultan Abu Issa, Bassam Hajar, and Issa Al-Attar. Meanwhile, the women’s team, also drawn in Group 2, is set to face Ukraine today before taking on France on the same day. The women’s lineup features Sarah Al-Maadheed, Dima Al-Jassim, Dana Suleiman, and Fatima Jamal Abdullah.
Current Standings and Performance Insights
In the current tournament standings, Qatar’s men’s team ranks second with 648.881 points, trailing leaders France, who have amassed 1,002.620 points. The Czech Republic is in third place with 536.950 points, followed closely by Ukraine at 510.606 points, Hungary at 427.345 points, and Romania at 408.897 points.
Qatar’s men’s side has displayed notable improvement throughout the previous three legs of the tournament, finishing sixth in the opener, fifth in the second leg, and achieving a strong second-place finish in the third leg, earning 175 points and marking a significant step forward.
On the women’s side, Qatar enters this leg in sixth place with 95.794 points. The Czech Republic currently leads the women’s rankings with 343.467 points, followed by Ukraine with 332.157 points, and France with 316.872 points. Qatar’s women have accumulated a total of 45 points from their prior three legs in the competition.
As both teams gear up for today’s matches, the atmosphere in Debrecen is charged with anticipation, and Qatar aims to build on its recent successes and capitalize on its competitive momentum.
