Qatar’s Youth Athletes Gear Up for U-18 Arab Championships
Qatar’s national youth athletics team is preparing to compete in the 11th Arab U-18 Athletics Championships in Tunis, Tunisia. The event is scheduled for August 23 to 27, 2025, and will feature a wide range of participants from across the Arab world.
The Qatari delegation will be led by Mohammed Issa Al Fadala, President of the Qatar Athletics Federation. The team is set to depart for Tunisia tomorrow, aiming for strong performances that showcase the ambitions and progress of athletics in Qatar.
Team Composition and Events
Comprising ten talented athletes, the Qatari squad will compete in various track and field events. This includes Idris Abkar and Hussein Mohammed in the 110m hurdles, Mubarak Saeed in the 1500m, and Samer Hussein in the 400m. Additionally, Timo Jumaa will participate in the 100m and 200m hurdles, while Saleh Mahmoud competes in the shot put and discus throw. The pole vault events will feature Younes Al Baloushi and Abdullah Al Abdullah.
The athletes are preparing diligently, fueled by the desire to achieve commendable results. Their participation is not only a chance to compete but also a significant opportunity to represent Qatar on a larger stage, reflecting the nation’s commitment to fostering young sporting talent.
