Muaither and Al Bidda Shine with Dominant Wins in QSL Cup

In an exciting display of football, Muaither and Al Bidda achieved impressive victories in the second round of the QSL Cup held in Doha, Qatar, on October 24, 2023. Muaither triumphed over Al Gharafa with a score of 5-2, while Abdallah Ahmed Nouri’s hat-trick propelled Al Bidda to a 3-1 win against Al Sadd.
Muaither’s Commanding Performance
Muaither showcased a strong performance from the outset at Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Stadium. They quickly established a commanding 3-1 lead by the end of the first half. The scoring commenced in the 16th minute when Albert Ramis netted the opener. Just ten minutes later, Florinel Coman equalized for Al Gharafa with a penalty kick, but Muaither’s Youssef Al Yahri quickly regained the lead.
As the first half concluded, Ivan Morales added another goal for Muaither in stoppage time, solidifying their advantage. Al Gharafa attempted to rally back when Coman scored again in the 54th minute, but Ramis struck again just three minutes later, restoring Muaither’s two-goal cushion. The final goal came from Abdulrahman Al Salahi in the 67th minute, marking Muaither’s first victory in the tournament after a goalless draw against Al Markhiya in their opening match.
Al Bidda’s Hat-Trick Hero
At Stadium 974, Al Bidda also made headlines with their victory over Al Sadd. Abdallah Ahmed Nouri opened the scoring in the seventh minute, finishing from close range after a well-placed cross from Tiku Cosmas. Despite Al Sadd’s persistence, which paid off with Yamaan Jarrar equalizing in the 52nd minute, Nouri restored Al Bidda’s lead in the 75th minute, again assisted by Cosmas.
Nouri capped off his remarkable performance with a final goal in the dying moments of the match, completing his hat-trick and securing a memorable victory for Al Bidda, a Second Division team. This win demonstrates the competitive spirit of lower-tier teams in the Qatar football landscape.
In another match, Al Waab managed to hold Al Arabi to a 1-1 draw at Al Khor Stadium. Al Arabi’s Ahmed Moeen opened the scoring in the 26th minute, but Al Waab’s captain, Baha Faisal, equalized in the 70th minute after a defensive miscalculation by Al Arabi’s goalkeeper.
The day also saw Al Duhail secure three points with a narrow 2-1 victory over Mesaimeer. After conceding the first goal, Al Duhail responded swiftly. Tahsin Mohammed equalized just one minute after Mesaimeer’s opener, and Hamada Ghazi netted the winner in the 70th minute.
Looking ahead, today promises more action as Al Shahania faces Al Shamal, while Al Rayyan takes on Al Wakrah in two highly anticipated fixtures.
