Arrowtown Long Table Returns with New Features and Lower Prices

The Arrowtown Long Table event is set to make a comeback on December 5, following a brief hiatus due to rising costs and logistical challenges. Managed by You Gather Events, owned by Laura and Campbell Ross, the event aims to rejuvenate its appeal after the cancellation of last year’s gathering. Originally established in 2010, the long-standing event faced difficulties in securing necessary consents and managing infrastructure expenses.
New Partnerships and Lower Ticket Prices
This year, the couple plans to accommodate between 600 and 700 guests along Buckingham Street. The event will feature a new selection of restaurants, including Swiftsure, Little Aosta, and Royalburn, in partnership with Queenstown Catering. While some previous participants like Provisions, The Fork and Tap, and Bendix Stables will not be returning, the organizers are optimistic about the fresh additions.
In an effort to enhance the guest experience, the event will implement increased security measures rather than the fencing used previously. Campbell Ross expressed satisfaction with the discussions held with local council officials, stating that they are “on the same page” regarding the event’s execution.
One of the most notable changes this year is a reduction in ticket prices. Previously priced at $80, tickets will now be available for approximately $67. This adjustment aims to encourage greater attendance and alleviate budget concerns for potential guests.
Upgrades in Quality and Entertainment
In response to feedback from the last event, organizers will also utilize “proper glass” instead of plastic wine glasses, enhancing the overall dining experience. Additionally, the event will feature new partners for beverages, including Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Aperol Spritz, and Kinross wine, promising a diverse selection for attendees.
Entertainment is a significant focus this year, with plans to offer engaging performances along the main street. The complete lineup of participating restaurants will be announced in early August, and tickets are expected to go on sale at the end of next month. The Arrowtown Long Table marks a vital event in the region’s culinary calendar, giving local businesses a chance to showcase their offerings while fostering community spirit. With the changes implemented this year, the organizers are hopeful for a successful event that resonates with both locals and visitors alike.
