Toni Street Launches Public Speaking Course to Empower New Zealanders
Toni Street, a prominent New Zealand media personality, has unveiled a new public speaking course aimed at building confidence among participants. Despite her poised on-screen presence as a television host and radio broadcaster, Street acknowledges that her own journey has been marked by insecurities and challenges. Now, she aims to empower others to overcome similar hurdles in their quest for effective public communication.
In an exclusive interview with Woman’s Day, Street described the excitement she feels about this new venture. “I’ve always wanted to have my own business, and this just marries up perfectly with my broadcasting skills and everything I’ve learnt throughout my career,” she stated. Street, who recently celebrated her 42nd birthday, expressed that the process of establishing the course has been a significant learning experience. “I didn’t know much at all about setting up a business before this, so it’s been a big learning curve but a really cool one,” she added.
The course aims not only to enhance public speaking skills but also to instill a sense of self-belief in participants. This initiative comes at a time when effective communication is more critical than ever, both in personal and professional contexts. Street’s own experiences, including moments of self-doubt, have shaped her desire to help others find their voices.
Street balances her new business venture with her ongoing commitments in broadcasting. She is a host on Coast, a popular radio station, where she co-presents a breakfast show with Jason Reeves and Sam Wallace. Just before our conversation, she returned from the studio and was gearing up to coach her daughter Juliette‘s netball team at an interschool tournament. Her ability to juggle various responsibilities reflects her strong commitment to both her family and her career.
With the course, Street hopes to provide practical tools and strategies that participants can use to improve their public speaking abilities. This initiative not only represents an extension of her professional expertise but also a personal mission to foster confidence in others.
As she opens this new chapter, Street invites New Zealanders to join her on this journey towards enhanced self-expression and effective communication. Her enthusiasm for the project is evident, and she looks forward to seeing the impact it will have on the participants.
