Hajmah Secures Gr.3 Prix Nevadour Victory in Dominant Style

Hajmah solidified her reputation as one of the premier fillies of her generation with a commanding victory in the Gr.3 (PA) Prix Nevadour – Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Nujaifi, held in Doha. The race, which took place at La Teste, was exclusively for four-year-old mares and covered a distance of 1900 meters.
Trained by Thomas Fourcy and expertly ridden by Fabrice Veron, Hajmah competed under the banner of Al Shaqab Racing. This latest win comes on the heels of her impressive performance in the Gr.1 (PA) Qatar Derby des Pur-Sang Arabes de 4 ans at Chantilly, marking her third Group (PA) victory.
A Race of Determination
Hajmah started the race slowly, settling at the rear while Ghaidaa (Muraaqib) took the lead, followed closely by Alhaan (Af Albahar) and the well-regarded Lacaro du Croate (No Risk Al Maury). As the horses raced towards the final bend, Intisar de Monlau made a significant move on the inside to challenge the leader, while Hajmah remained in last position.
Entering the home straight, Hajmah was still at the back but appeared strong and ready to make her move. As the field drifted towards the stands’ side in search of better ground, Hajmah had to angle wide to find clear racing room. Once she did, her acceleration was remarkable. Within the final 400 meters, she surged past the favourite and quickly caught up to Geneva (Azadi), who had taken the lead.
Hajmah secured the win decisively, finishing three-quarters of a length ahead of Geneva, with Lacaro du Croate maintaining third place. This victory not only demonstrates her prowess on the track but also amplifies her status within the sport.
Pedigree and Future Prospects
Bred by Al Shaqab Racing, Hajmah is out of Easter de Faust, a distinguished Gr.1 (PA) winner over 2000 meters in the Qatar Arabian Trophy des Pouliches at the age of three, and a Gr.3 (PA) winner over 1600 meters the same year. Easter de Faust is also a half-sister to Battash De Faust (Af Albahar), a successful competitor with multiple wins over 1400 meters and a notable third place in a Gr.1 (PA) event over 1600 meters in Doha.
This significant victory at the Prix Nevadour further establishes Hajmah as a leading contender in upcoming races and solidifies her potential for future successes in the world of Arabian horse racing.
