Lusail International Circuit Prepares for Thrilling 2025 F1 Qatar Grand Prix

Doha, Qatar: The Lusail International Circuit (LIC) has officially announced its preparations for the FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS QATAR GRAND PRIX 2025, set to take place from November 28–30, 2025. During a recent press conference, key officials detailed the circuit’s readiness to welcome fans, drivers, and teams for what promises to be an exciting race weekend.
The event featured presentations from Ali Al Dosari, Executive Director Operations of LIC, and Hamad Alkhalaqi, PR & Communications Manager. They elaborated on the circuit’s final preparations, including enhanced fan experiences, sustainability initiatives, and various community programs designed to engage audiences as the event approaches.
Exciting On-Track and Off-Track Activities Await Fans
This year’s program is designed to offer an unforgettable experience for a wide range of attendees—from die-hard motorsport enthusiasts to families looking for fun. In addition to the main race on Sunday, the weekend will showcase the Formula 1 Sprint Race, FIA Formula 2 Championship, and Porsche Carrera Middle East Cup, ensuring non-stop action throughout the event.
Entertainment off the track will be equally thrilling, highlighted by a concert from the renowned British singer Seal on Friday, followed by a performance from the iconic rock band Metallica on Sunday. This year’s revamped Fan Zone promises a unique blend of thrill, entertainment, education, and culture, featuring a larger family area with activities for all ages and a variety of local food options.
Central to the Fan Zone will be the Qatar Cultural Area, showcasing Qatari heritage through traditional performances, crafts, and hospitality, including live Ardha, Arabic coffee, and dates, as well as craft displays like Sadu weaving and calligraphy.
Innovative Experiences and Sustainability Initiatives
For the first time in the Middle East, LEGO will introduce its popular “Build The Thrill” experience during the event. This activation allows guests to engage with a LEGO-themed pit lane and garage, where they can construct their own mini LEGO F1 car and take it home in special packaging.
The Fan Zone will offer a variety of official F1 activities, including F1 Sim Racing, the LED Pitstop Challenge, and opportunities for selfies with virtual F1 drivers. Attendees can also enjoy the immersive “This is F1 4D” cinematic show, a wind tunnel experience, and virtual pit tours, all designed to enhance fan engagement.
In line with its commitment to sustainability, LIC is implementing several initiatives as part of Qatar National Vision 2030. These include recycling stations made from repurposed materials, solar-powered lighting systems, and a food redistribution program aimed at minimizing waste and supporting local communities.
New this year is The Sensory Room, developed in partnership with Qatar Foundation. This space is designed to provide a calm environment for guests with sensory sensitivities, reflecting LIC’s dedication to inclusivity.
To further enhance the fan experience, LIC has introduced a bilingual digital event map and navigation platform. This cloud-based tool will assist fans with real-time wayfinding throughout the weekend, guiding them from parking areas to various amenities and activities.
As excitement builds, LIC is also focusing on community engagement. The ongoing Qatar GP Educational Tour connects students with the world of motorsport through VR pit stops, STEM activities, and simulations of the Lusail International Circuit track. Additionally, the circuit is partnering with the University of Doha for Science and Technology to provide internship opportunities for students in the sports and events management sector.
Throughout November, city-wide activations will take place, including the Qatar GP Village at Place Vendôme Mall, which will feature VR simulators and interactive challenges. Iconic F1 helmet installations will appear at various landmarks across Doha, further enhancing the city’s festive atmosphere.
Tickets for the event are selling quickly, with several categories already sold out. Fans are encouraged to secure their seats to participate in what promises to be an unforgettable weekend of racing, music, and celebration.
Abdulaziz Ali Al Mohannadi, CEO of Lusail International Circuit, commented on the upcoming event, stating, “The FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS QATAR GRAND PRIX has become a true showcase of Qatar’s innovation and hospitality. This year, we are proud to present not only a world-class race but an entire festival experience that connects technology, culture, education, sustainability, and community initiatives.”
With the countdown officially underway, Lusail International Circuit is poised to welcome the world for a remarkable Formula 1 weekend, celebrating the spirit of motorsport and the passion that unites fans globally.
