JoJo Siwa Hospitalized After Burst Ovarian Cyst Before Show
JoJo Siwa experienced a medical emergency on November 24, 2023, when a cyst on her ovary burst, leading to her hospitalization just hours before a scheduled performance. The 22-year-old star, known for her appearances on *Dance Moms*, described the incident as “excruciating pain” and reported difficulty breathing prior to being transported to a hospital.
In a candid TikTok video, Siwa shared the alarming details of her condition. She indicated that she had been experiencing stomach pain for a few days, which she initially dismissed as something that would “just pass.” However, the situation escalated dramatically after she returned to her hotel room at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.
“It was yesterday morning, and I went to the Mall of America to do some morning Black Friday work, and all of a sudden, I was coming back up to my room,” Siwa explained in the video. Her mother was present, and Siwa expressed her intent to seek medical attention upon returning home. She assumed the discomfort would subside, as it had in previous days.
Three hours before her performance, Siwa attempted to rest, hoping to alleviate her discomfort. She recounted, “I can’t breathe, this is really bad. Why don’t I get in the bathtub?” Unfortunately, this decision exacerbated her symptoms, prompting a swift response from her family.
Following her hospitalization, Siwa has been open about her experience, emphasizing the importance of listening to one’s body. The burst ovarian cyst can cause significant pain and complications, underlining the seriousness of her condition. Although her performance was canceled, Siwa’s health remains her top priority during this time.
This incident serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of health issues, particularly for those in the public eye. Siwa’s proactive approach in seeking medical attention, despite her initial hopes that the pain would pass, highlights the need for vigilance when it comes to health matters.
As fans and followers express their support, many are relieved to know that Siwa is receiving care. The incident has sparked discussions about the pressures performers face and the importance of prioritizing health over public appearances. Siwa’s experience resonates with many, reinforcing the message that self-care is essential, particularly in demanding professions.
Updates on her recovery are anticipated as she continues to focus on her health and well-being.
