JoJo Siwa Hospitalized After Ovarian Cyst Bursts Before Performance
JoJo Siwa was hospitalized on November 24, 2023, after experiencing severe pain due to a burst ovarian cyst just hours before her scheduled performance at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The 22-year-old star of *Dance Moms* shared her ordeal on TikTok, revealing that she was in “excruciating pain” and struggling to breathe prior to receiving medical attention.
In her video, Siwa explained that she had been dealing with stomach discomfort for a few days, attributing it to her busy schedule of dancing and performing. She initially dismissed the pain, hoping it would subside. However, the situation escalated rapidly. “It was yesterday morning, and I went to the Mall of America to do some morning Black Friday work,” she recounted. “All of a sudden, I was coming back up to my room, told my mom, I was like, ‘Hey, I’m gonna have to get myself looked at when I get home.’ This pain is really bad, but I thought it would pass; it has been for the last few days.”
As the time for her performance approached, Siwa decided to rest. She lay down in her room, but her condition worsened. “I can’t breathe, this is really bad. Why don’t I get in the bathtub?” she said, noting that this action intensified her pain significantly.
Siwa was transported to a local hospital shortly thereafter. Medical professionals evaluated her condition and confirmed that a cyst on her ovary had ruptured. Such occurrences can lead to sudden and severe abdominal pain, and in some cases, require immediate medical intervention.
Fortunately, reports indicate that Siwa is recovering from the incident. She has not disclosed specific details regarding her treatment or any subsequent medical advisories but expressed gratitude for the support she received during the ordeal.
The incident highlights the potential health risks performers face while maintaining a demanding schedule. For many in the entertainment industry, physical strain can lead to unexpected medical issues, as seen with Siwa’s experience.
Fans and followers have expressed their concern and support, sending messages of encouragement through social media platforms. Siwa’s ability to connect with her audience continues to resonate, even in challenging times.
