Leka Halasima Nominated for Two Dally M Awards at 2025 Ceremony

Rookie sensation Leka Halasima of the New Zealand Warriors has been recognized for his outstanding performance during the 2025 NRL season. He is a finalist for both the NRL Rookie of the Year and Second Rower of the Year at the upcoming Dally M Awards, scheduled to take place in Sydney. The announcement was made on Sunday, revealing the nominees for the prestigious awards, which include up to five players in each position.
At just 20 years of age, Halasima has made a significant impact in his debut season, participating in all 25 matches. He finished as the Warriors’ top try-scorer, tallying an impressive 13 tries. His standout moment came in July when he executed a remarkable solo effort to clinch a win against the Newcastle Knights.
Halasima will face tough competition for the Rookie of the Year title from Isaiah Iongi of the Parramatta Eels and Robert Toia of the Sydney Roosters. Winning this award would mark a historic achievement as he could become the first Warriors player to earn the Rookie of the Year accolade.
Joining Halasima in the finalists list is teammate Erin Clark, who is nominated for Lock of the Year. Clark’s consistent performance throughout the season has solidified his place among the league’s elite players.
The Dally M Awards, a highlight of the NRL calendar, celebrate the best talent in rugby league. This year’s ceremony promises to be an exciting event, showcasing not only the skills of the nominees but also the growth of emerging stars like Halasima.
As the awards approach, rugby league fans will eagerly anticipate the outcomes, particularly Halasima’s potential to bring home significant accolades for the Warriors.
