Redwood Group Launches Boutique Townhouse Project in Queenstown

The Redwood Group has announced an upcoming development of ten architecturally-designed boutique townhouses in Queenstown, with plans to commence earthworks as early as December 2023. The 1,012-square-metre site is set to be settled next month, pending resource consent.
Sales Momentum Builds for Luxury Townhouses
According to Bayleys Queenstown agent Matthew Lawrence, three of the townhouses have already been sold, while another three are currently under contract. Each unit is priced between $1.85 million and $1.95 million and features a floor area of 110 square metres, accommodating three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a media room that can serve as an additional bedroom. The open-plan design also includes a kitchen, living, and dining area, along with designated off-street parking.
The townhouses come with a unique appeal, offering 365-day residential visitor accommodation. This feature is particularly attractive to out-of-town buyers seeking a lock-up-and-leave holiday home option, including the potential for Airbnb rentals.
“The views and the location make this development unique,” Lawrence stated, noting that it is currently the closest development to the town centre. Most interest has come from buyers in Auckland, who are drawn to the location’s scenic views and proximity to Queenstown’s amenities.
Versatile Living Options for Buyers
The Redwood Group’s founder, Gapes, highlighted that while the townhouses are ideal for vacationers, they also cater to those seeking a permanent residence. “You could quite easily live in one 12 months of the year,” he remarked, adding that the location and views will make these units appealing as short-term visitor accommodations as well.
Redwood Group is not new to the Queenstown area; they previously developed the Five Mile shopping centre in Frankton, as well as The Alex Apartments in central Queenstown and the Coronet Peak Alpine Villas in Arthurs Point. The company is also advancing the under-construction Kawarau Villas, which will ultimately consist of 180 units at Remarkables Park’s Juniper Place. The first stage of Kawarau Villas includes 39 three-bedroom, two-level units, with the first units expected to settle next month.
Gapes reported that about half of the 38 units in the second stage of Kawarau Villas have already sold, attracting a diverse range of buyers, including local owner-occupiers, first-home buyers, and investors from both Australia and Auckland. “The rental returns on them are really good, so I think they’ve been an attractive proposition for a lot of people,” he concluded.
As the demand for housing options in Queenstown continues to grow, the Redwood Group’s latest project stands out not only for its design but also for its potential to meet various buyer needs in a competitive market.
