The first teaser for the upcoming film Supergirl has officially arrived, creating excitement among fans. Released on December 7, 2025, the brief 10-second clip showcases Milly Alcock in the titular role, giving viewers a glimpse of her character’s demeanor as she dons oversized sunglasses while a spaceship lands nearby.

As anticipation builds for the film’s official release on June 26, 2026, the need for a full trailer has become increasingly apparent. The DC Universe (DCU) has a history of sharing trailers around this time of year; for example, the first trailer for this year’s Superman film debuted roughly a year ago, with the movie itself launching in mid-July.

Initially, there were expectations that the first trailer for Supergirl would premiere at the Brazil Comic-Con (CCXP) 2025. However, despite the event taking place from December 4 to 7, the anticipated footage was absent from the showcase. Instead, according to entertainment reporter Erik Davis from Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes, the trailer was previewed at a private event in New York City on the same day the teaser was released.

Upcoming Trailer Release Speculations

While the precise release date for the full trailer remains uncertain, a social media post indicated it would be unveiled “this week.” This timeframe was echoed by James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, on his personal account.

Speculation suggests that the trailer could debut on December 11. Industry insider DanielRPK, known for accurately predicting trailer release dates, has hinted at this possibility. However, this release date might cause complications, as the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday is also rumored to be scheduled for the same day. If both trailers are set to launch on December 11, it would place DC Studios in a challenging position regarding the timing of their promotional content.

Despite the uncertainty, excitement continues to grow for the Supergirl film, particularly following Alcock’s well-received cameo in this year’s Superman movie. Fans are eager to learn more about the film’s plot and supporting cast as the release date approaches.

In the meantime, updates on both Supergirl and Avengers: Doomsday will be closely monitored, offering fans a glimpse into the cinematic future of the DC and Marvel universes.
