Try Your Hand at Golf Croquet
On November 8, 2023, the Howick Croquet Club will host a fun-filled day for all ages from 10:00 to 14:00 at Millhouse Reserve, located at 67 Millhouse Drive. This event welcomes families and individuals to learn golf croquet, a sport known for its accessibility and social nature. Equipment will be provided, and friendly coaches will be available to assist newcomers. Participants are encouraged to wear soft-soled sports shoes, and a sausage sizzle will be held at 12:00 for attendees looking to enjoy refreshments. Join the Free Have-A-Go Morning
The Pakuranga Athletic Club invites children and families to a free Have-A-Go Morning on October 11, 2023, at the Yvette Williams Track in Lloyd Elsmore Park, Pakuranga. Young athletes aged two to six years old can participate in fun activities starting at 09:30, while children aged seven to fourteen can explore various track and field events beginning at 10:30. No previous experience is necessary, making this an excellent opportunity for children to discover athletics in a supportive environment. Combined Probus Club Celebrates Milestone
The Combined Probus Club of Ormiston will celebrate its 13th birthday alongside a change of venue on October 16, 2023. The club will now meet at the St Paul’s in the Park Church Community Centre, located at 141 Chapel Road, starting at 10:00. This event will feature a Blue and Yellow birthday party theme, highlighting the club’s commitment to providing seniors with a space for fun, friendship, and fellowship. Monthly meetings will continue to include guest speakers, morning tea, and local trips. Additionally, the club has received support from the Howick Local Board to assist with bus trips to locations such as Cambridge, Piha, and Dargaville. New members and guests are warmly welcomed.
Free CV Writing Workshop for Youth
The Citizens Advice Bureau Pakuranga East Manukau is offering a free CV writing workshop for young people on October 18, 2023. The session will run from 12:00 to 13:30 and will be led by careers and leadership coach Vai Kavthekar. This workshop provides an excellent opportunity for young individuals to enhance their job application skills. No registration is required; interested participants can simply arrive at the Youth Space, Level 2, 588 Chapel Road, Botany Town Centre, next to Botany Library.
