Shundi Customs Clarifies Seascape Tower Status Amid Miscommunication
The developer of Auckland’s Seascape Tower, a 56-level residential building, has provided clarifications regarding its structural integrity and completion timeline. Shundi Customs has stated that the confirmation of the tower’s safety came not from its builder, Icon, but from independent engineers, Mott MacDonald. This clarification follows reports of miscommunication surrounding the project.
Updates on Auckland’s Tallest Residential Tower
Located at 83 Customs St East, the Seascape Tower is poised to be New Zealand’s tallest apartment building available for residential living, surpassing even the iconic SkyTower. With a construction budget exceeding $300 million, the tower is expected to redefine the Auckland skyline.
Harrison Shao, the general manager of Shundi Customs, addressed concerns over the project’s progress. He noted that the miscommunication primarily involved the roles of various stakeholders in confirming the tower’s structural integrity. “We appreciate the diligence of our engineering partners and want to ensure that all parties are accurately represented in this important project,” he stated.
The completion date for the Seascape Tower remains uncertain, but Shundi Customs is committed to providing updates as construction progresses. The project has garnered significant public interest, not only for its architectural significance but also for its potential impact on the local housing market.
Broader Developments in Auckland’s Real Estate Market
In addition to the Seascape updates, Shundi Customs has also shared news regarding other developments in Auckland, including projects in Parnell and Pt Chevalier. These areas are experiencing a surge in residential development, reflecting the growing demand for housing in New Zealand’s largest city.
As the housing market evolves, the Seascape Tower stands out as a significant landmark. The ongoing construction reflects a broader trend in urban development, where innovative design meets the pressing need for more living spaces in metropolitan areas.
Shundi Customs plans to keep the public informed about essential updates as the Seascape project advances, ensuring transparency and community engagement throughout its development.
