Two individuals suffered serious injuries in a crash involving two utes on State Highway 2, located north of Napier. The incident occurred near Haliburton Road around 06:00 on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, where they found one person in critical condition and another in serious condition.

According to a police spokeswoman, two utes were involved in the collision. The rapid response of emergency services included two ambulances dispatched by Hato Hone St John. The spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed that both patients were assessed on-site.

The individual in critical condition was transported to Hawke’s Bay Hospital, while the second patient, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to Wairoa Hospital. Their current conditions have not been disclosed, but authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
