Anne Hegerty Makes Film Debut in “Deadcast” Horror Flick

Anne Hegerty, known for her role on the popular quiz show The Chase, is set to make her film debut in an upcoming independent horror film titled Deadcast. The 67-year-old television personality recently filmed a cameo in this low-budget project, which highlights the experiences of podcasters exploring supernatural claims.
The film was shot in the filmmakers’ home county of Lincolnshire and follows a pair of podcasters as they delve into various paranormal phenomena. Hegerty’s role involves portraying a woman who recounts her personal experience with unidentified flying objects (UFOs). In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, she shared a glimpse into her character’s narrative: “I say, ‘they’ve been with me my whole life. It doesn’t matter where I go, they follow me.’”
Adding a touch of whimsy to the scene, she noted, “Just at that precise moment, an ice cream van passes playing Teddy Bear’s Picnic. It was a lot of fun.” This light-hearted moment contrasts with the film’s horror theme, showcasing Hegerty’s ability to blend entertainment with suspense.
As Hegerty transitions from television to film, her fans are eager to see how her unique personality will translate on screen. The shift to acting in a horror film represents an exciting new chapter in her career, expanding her repertoire beyond quiz show fame.
The project exemplifies the rise of independent cinema, where creative ideas can flourish outside the constraints of major studios. With its intriguing premise and Hegerty’s participation, Deadcast is poised to capture the attention of both horror enthusiasts and her loyal fan base.
Fans can look forward to Hegerty’s performance and the film’s exploration of the supernatural once it is released. The combination of her charm and the film’s eerie narrative creates a promising debut that has the potential to entertain audiences across various demographics.
