Tasti Products Recalls Muesli Bars and Snacks Over Metal Contamination

Tasti Products Limited has initiated a recall of several muesli bars, peanuts, and snack ball products due to the potential presence of small wire-like metal pieces. This decision comes after an alert from New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS), which indicated that the affected items could pose a risk of injury to consumers.
Vincent Arbuckle, the deputy director-general of NZFS, emphasized the importance of consumer safety, stating, “Affected products have been removed from shelves. If you have any at home, don’t eat them. You can return them to the place of purchase for a refund. If that’s not possible, throw them out.” The recall includes products such as Smooshed wholefood balls, snack logs, chopped peanuts, Frooze Balls, and nut bars.
Details of the Recall
Not all batches and flavors are affected, prompting consumers to check the detailed recall information available on the NZFS website. The products in question are widely sold across supermarkets and retailers throughout New Zealand.
While there have been no reported injuries linked to the recalled items, Arbuckle assured the public that NZFS is working closely with Tasti Products Limited to investigate the situation. “As is our usual practice, NZFS will work with Tasti Products Ltd to understand how this happened and prevent its recurrence,” he added.
Some of the affected products have also been exported to international markets, including Australia, Fiji, India, and Singapore. NZFS has promptly informed food safety authorities in these countries about the potential contamination.
For consumers seeking up-to-date information on affected products, batches, and flavors, including photographs, resources are available through the NZFS recall page.
As Tasti Products Limited addresses this issue, consumers are urged to remain vigilant and adhere to the recall guidelines to ensure their safety.
