Gibbston Valley Summer Concert Relocates to Wānaka’s New Arena

The renowned Gibbston Valley Summer Concert will relocate from Queenstown to a newly developed outdoor venue in Wānaka. According to concert organisers Greenstone Entertainment, the Three Parks Outdoor Arena is set to open in time for this summer’s event, marking a significant change in the concert’s location.
This year’s Summer Concert Tour, held in Gibbston Valley, featured performances by popular artists including Bic Runga, Icehouse, Everclear, and Cold Chisel. The event is projected to have contributed approximately $12 million to the local economy, underscoring the concert’s importance to the region.
New Venue Promises Enhanced Experience
The decision to move to Wānaka reflects a commitment to providing an upgraded concert experience. The Three Parks Outdoor Arena will serve as the concert’s home for the next five years. “We’re absolutely delighted to have secured Three Parks Outdoor Arena as our new home for the next five years,” stated Amanda Calvert, founder and CEO of Greenstone Entertainment. This new venue is anticipated to offer improved facilities and a better atmosphere for attendees.
Wānaka, known for its stunning landscape, will provide a picturesque backdrop for the Summer Concert, further enhancing the appeal of the event. The transition from Queenstown, a well-known tourist hub, to this new location is seen as a strategic move to attract a broader audience and elevate the concert experience.
Local stakeholders are optimistic about the shift, recognizing the economic benefits the concert brings. The influx of visitors during the event is expected to bolster local businesses and contribute to the vibrant community spirit of Wānaka.
As preparations for the upcoming concert commence, Greenstone Entertainment is poised to maintain the high standards that concert-goers have come to expect. With the promise of a fresh venue and an exciting lineup, the Gibbston Valley Summer Concert is set to create memorable experiences for attendees in the years to come.
