Terry Crews Praises Shah Rukh Khan’s Global Stardom
Hollywood actor and television host Terry Crews has lauded Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, equating his global prominence to that of Tom Cruise and football legend Cristiano Ronaldo. In a recent interview reported by The Telegraph Online, Crews expressed his admiration for Khan’s international appeal and shared his aspiration to work in Indian cinema.
Crews remarked on Khan’s status as a “super international star,” noting, “I haven’t met him yet, but I’m looking forward to that. To me, he is a true example of Tom Cruise-level Indian talent that has taken over the world.” He emphasized the vastness of Khan’s brand, likening it to that of Ronaldo, stating that it is “enormous.”
Highlighting the distinctiveness of Bollywood films, Crews praised how they integrate music and dance into storytelling. “Everybody around the globe wants what India has simply because it really satisfies a need in so many ways,” he noted. As a dancer himself, Crews expressed nostalgia for the musical performances featured in Indian films, contrasting them with the sporadic appearances of such elements in American cinema. “When you look at the culture and the way they’ve incorporated big musical performances into the movies, you don’t get that in America. It comes along once in a blue moon, like Wicked,” he said.
Crews recently celebrated his birthday at the age of 57 and garnered attention on social media after sharing a photograph with fellow actor Ranveer Singh. The image, taken in Abu Dhabi, featured the two posing as boxers, and Crews extended his congratulations to Singh on the success of his film Dhurandhar, writing, “Me and the great @ranveersingh at @abudhabigp!!!! Congrats on Dhurandhar.”
Looking ahead, Crews is set to appear in the action-adventure comedy PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is preparing for the release of his much-anticipated action drama King, directed by Siddharth Anand. As both actors continue to make strides in their careers, their mutual admiration highlights the growing connection between Hollywood and Bollywood, reflecting the expanding influence of Indian cinema on a global scale.
