Wānaka Hosts Summer Concert Tour Debut on January 31
Greenstone Entertainment has officially announced that the Summer Concert Tour will debut at the Three Parks Outdoor Arena in Wānaka on January 31, 2024. This marks the first time the concert series has been held in Wānaka, having previously taken place at the Gibbston Valley Winery for the past 15 years. The concert is expected to attract a significant audience, showcasing top international talent.
While the full artist line-up will be revealed on Thursday, January 25, 2024, Greenstone Entertainment hinted that the roster will feature well-known performers. Last year’s event included popular acts like Australian rock band Cold Chisel, Icehouse, New Zealand’s Bic Runga, and American band Everclear. Previous years have seen performances from notable artists such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Doobie Brothers, and Billy Idol.
Excitement Builds for New Venue
The Wānaka concert will be the final stop in a three-show tour, following performances at the Taupo Amphitheatre on January 24 and the Sherriff Block Arena in Whitianga on January 26. Amanda Calvert, founder and CEO of Greenstone Entertainment, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming tour.
“We’re absolutely delighted to be returning to the Taupo Amphitheatre for the sixteenth year running,” Calvert stated. “Our fresh new venue in Whitianga will enhance the Summer Concert experience for all our loyal fans. Additionally, we are overjoyed to be returning to Central Otago for our only South Island concert and we’re incredibly grateful for the warm welcome we’ve received from the Wānaka community as we prepare to launch the Summer Concert Tour at Three Parks Outdoor Arena.”
A New Chapter for the Summer Concert Tour
The decision to host the Summer Concert Tour in Wānaka reflects a strategic expansion for the series, aiming to reach new audiences while retaining its loyal fan base. The addition of the Three Parks Outdoor Arena is expected to provide an excellent setting for live performances, enhancing the overall concert experience.
As anticipation builds for the event, fans are eager to learn which international artists will be part of this year’s line-up. The Summer Concert Tour continues to be a highlight of the New Zealand summer, drawing music lovers from across the country and beyond.
