Hadi De Carrere Triumphs in Ain Sinan Cup at Al Uqda Racecourse
Doha, Qatar: Hadi De Carrere marked a triumphant return to form by clinching the Ain Sinan Cup, achieving a significant victory in the Purebred Arabian Open Race on March 15, 2024, at Al Uqda Racecourse. This win highlighted the nine-year-old bay’s enduring prowess on the track, as he showcased a commanding performance against a competitive field of five runners.
A Strong Performance Reaffirmed
Owned by Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohamed bin Faleh Al-Thani and trained by Gassim Al Ghazali, Hadi De Carrere bounced back from a recent runner-up finish to secure his second victory from three starts this season. Under the guidance of jockey Marco Casamento, the horse powered home to win by a decisive margin of 2¼ lengths, contributing to a memorable treble for both trainer and jockey during the event.
The race commenced with a dramatic flair as M’tawa El Saa’yeb surged forward from barrier one, establishing a strong early lead. The other competitors adopted a more conservative strategy, with Hadi De Carrere settling comfortably in the chasing pack, just ahead of Nasser Al Shahania. This tactical positioning allowed Hadi De Carrere to conserve energy as the race progressed.
Race Dynamics and Final Push
As the race reached its halfway point, the positions remained stable, but the early leader’s advantage began to diminish after the 1000-meter mark. The fast pace started to take its toll, allowing Hadi De Carrere to ease into contention. Approaching the home turn, he began to close in with purpose, gradually making his presence felt in the final stretch.
With just 200 meters to go, Hadi De Carrere took control decisively, overtaking M’tawa El Saa’yeb and pulling ahead to secure a convincing victory. This result not only reinforced his status in the racing community but also underscored the effectiveness of his team’s strategies.
The day’s seven-race card at Al Uqda Racecourse featured a variety of winners. The event opened with Lahab securing a victory in the local Thoroughbred maiden race. Shamshon ANR triumphed in a tightly contested Purebred Arabian race, while Thunder Valley was awarded the handicap title following a stewards’ inquiry.
Other notable performances included Politico, who delivered a late surge for a decisive win, and Al Ryan Park, which dominated with a wide-margin success. Maarek continued his consistent form with a commanding staying performance, rounding off a day filled with thrilling moments before Hadi De Carrere’s impressive closure.
This event not only showcased the talents of the horses but also highlighted the strategic acumen of their connections, making for an exciting day of racing in Doha.
