Guthrie Bowron Warkworth Undergoes Revamp with New Ownership
Guthrie Bowron Warkworth has embarked on a significant transformation under the ownership of Richard Park and Carren Richardson. Taking the reins on October 1, 2023, the couple aims to enhance the customer experience with new signage, an improved layout, and an expanded product range. Their vision is to create a store that not only sells paint and curtains but also offers comprehensive design support.
Both Park and Richardson bring valuable experience to their new venture. Richardson, with a background in advertising, describes the store as “this perfect meld of everything I am.” Park enhances the business with his corporate skillset, ensuring a strategic approach to their operations. They have retained existing staff, acknowledging that their expertise is crucial to the store’s success.
Expanding Product Offerings and Services
The duo emphasizes that local customers often underestimate the variety of products and services available at Guthrie Bowron. “We do a full spectrum: all kinds of window treatments, wallpaper and paint, curtains and flooring,” Park explains. Their commitment to the community includes strengthening ties with the paint trade and supporting the construction sector. Additionally, they plan to introduce marine and automotive paint ranges.
Park and Richardson are not stopping there. They are looking to expand into tiles and enhance the homewares offering. Furthermore, they intend to develop design workshops focusing on topics such as upcycling and colour psychology. “We’re more than a paint and curtain store,” Richardson asserts. “We want to help people work out their own style and have homes they love.”
A Community-Centric Approach
The couple, currently commuting from Auckland while searching for a home in the area, appreciates the strong sense of community in Warkworth. They believe that their store can become a hub for local residents seeking inspiration and support for their home projects.
As they settle into their new roles, Park and Richardson are committed to making Guthrie Bowron Warkworth a destination for all home improvement needs. They envision it as a one-stop shop, equipped with everything they will need to decorate their future home.
With their fresh ideas and dedication to customer service, Guthrie Bowron Warkworth is poised to become a vital resource for the Warkworth community, encouraging residents to explore their creativity in home design.
