Shelly Park School Hosts Successful Colour Fun Run in 2025
On March 15, 2025, the Shelly Park School community came together for its annual Colour Fun Run, attracting over 500 participants. This vibrant event aimed to promote physical fitness and foster community spirit while raising funds for school programs and initiatives.
The Colour Fun Run featured a 5-kilometre route, where runners of all ages were doused in bright, non-toxic coloured powders at various checkpoints. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement as families, students, and local residents joined in the fun. “It’s fantastic to see so many people come out and support our school,” said Principal Sarah Thompson. “Events like this not only encourage a healthy lifestyle but also strengthen our community bonds.”
Local businesses played a significant role in the event’s success. Numerous sponsors provided financial backing and in-kind donations, including refreshments and race materials. James Lee, a representative from one of the event’s main sponsors, noted, “Supporting the Colour Fun Run is an investment in our children and their future. We are proud to contribute to such a meaningful event.”
Volunteer efforts were crucial to the event’s smooth operation. Parents and older students pitched in, managing registration, handing out water, and ensuring safety along the route. Their dedication helped create a welcoming environment for all participants. “Volunteering for this event is always a joy,” stated Emily Johnson, a parent volunteer. “Seeing everyone enjoy themselves makes it all worth it.”
The funds raised during the Colour Fun Run will directly benefit various programs at Shelly Park School, including sports equipment, art supplies, and educational workshops. The school aims to use these contributions to enhance the learning experience for its students.
In addition to the run, the event included activities such as face painting, live music, and food stalls, further enriching the community atmosphere. Families lingered long after the race, enjoying the vibrant setting and connecting with one another.
The Colour Fun Run at Shelly Park School not only highlighted the importance of health and fitness, but it also showcased the strength of community involvement. As the event concluded, plans were already underway for next year’s run, promising even more excitement and participation. The success of this year’s event has set a high standard for future gatherings, ensuring that the Colour Fun Run will remain a beloved tradition for years to come.
