Accused of Loafers Lodge Fire Faces Jury Over Past Convictions
The man accused of causing the deadly fire at **Loafers Lodge** in Wellington has a history of violent crimes, as revealed during proceedings in the **High Court**. The 50-year-old defendant, whose name is suppressed, is facing charges of murdering five individuals by allegedly setting the boarding house ablaze on **May 16, 2023**.
