Cream Spill Disrupts Traffic on State Highway 3 for 10km
A significant cream spill has disrupted traffic along a 10-kilometre stretch of State Highway 3 in New Zealand, affecting the route between Te Awamutu and Ōhaupō. The incident occurred early in the morning, with police receiving reports of the spill around 3:50 a.m. on the morning of the incident.
Authorities have advised motorists to exercise caution when approaching the area. A spokesperson for the New Zealand Police emphasized the importance of vigilance, stating that drivers should “take extra caution to stop their journey going sour.” The road is currently undergoing cleanup efforts to ensure safety for all travelers.
Efforts to manage the situation are already underway, with road crews working to remove the cream from the highway. In the meantime, drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes if possible and remain patient as cleanup progresses.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the spill, but the incident highlights the potential hazards posed by road spills, particularly on busy highways. As cleanup continues, police remain on-site to assist with traffic management and to ensure that vehicles can navigate the area safely.
Motorists are reminded to stay updated on road conditions and follow any advisories issued by local authorities.
