Police Arrest Woman Allegedly Stealing $13,000 in Goods

A woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $13,000 worth of items across several locations in New Zealand. Police located the 22-year-old hiding in a wardrobe in Rotorua after discovering her vehicle on Saturday. She is facing multiple charges, primarily related to shoplifting.

The woman was wanted on a warrant for her arrest due to a series of thefts in Taupō, Tūrangi, Tauranga, Te Kūiti, and Rotorua. In addition to the shoplifting charges, she had also breached her bail conditions. Officers from the local Beat Team apprehended her after tracking her whereabouts, leading to her arrest on 24 charges, including 17 counts for shoplifting.
