Qatar’s Youth Athletics Team Prepares for Arab Championship in Tunis
Qatar’s national youth athletics team is gearing up to compete in the 11th Arab U-18 Athletics Championships, scheduled to take place in Tunis, Tunisia, from August 23 to 27, 2025. This championship will see wide participation from young athletes across the Arab world, showcasing emerging talent and fostering competition.
Leadership and Expectations
The Qatari delegation will be led by Mohammed Issa Al Fadala, President of the Qatar Athletics Federation, who is optimistic about the team’s prospects. The squad is set to depart for Tunisia tomorrow, carrying the aspirations of a nation eager to make its mark in athletics.
With a focus on both development and performance, the team aims to achieve results that reflect the ambitions and ongoing progress of Qatari athletics. The athletes have trained rigorously in preparation for this significant event.
Meet the Athletes
The delegation comprises ten promising athletes who will compete in various track and field events. Notable participants include Idris Abkar and Hussein Mohammed in the 110m hurdles, Mubarak Saeed in the 1500m, and Samer Hussein in the 400m. Additionally, Timo Jumaa will compete in both the 100m and 200m hurdles, while Saleh Mahmoud will participate in the shot put and discus throw.
Furthermore, Younes Al Baloushi and Abdullah Al Abdullah will represent Qatar in the pole vault event, adding to the team’s diverse range of talent. Each athlete is eager to showcase their skills on this prominent stage.
