Kuwait Bourse Sees Gains as All Share Index Rises 0.20%
The Kuwait Bourse experienced a positive trading session on March 15, 2024, with the All Share Index climbing by 17.30 points to close at 8,859.84 points. This marks an increase of 0.20 percent, reflecting investor confidence in the market.
Trading Volume and Market Activity
During the trading day, approximately 311.6 million shares were exchanged, with a total value reaching KWD 82.6 million (around USD 251.9 million). Transactions totaled 20,752, showcasing a robust trading environment.
In contrast, the Main Market Index saw a decline of 7.91 points, ending at 8,192.17 points, which is a decrease of 0.10 percent. This segment of the market recorded 134.8 million shares traded through 11,384 transactions valued at KWD 25.8 million (approximately USD 78.6 million).
Segment Performance Highlights
The Premier Market Index, however, showed resilience, gaining 24.29 points to reach 9,463.38 points, an increase of 0.26 percent. This index facilitated the trading of 176.7 million shares across 9,368 transactions, valued at KWD 56.8 million (around USD 173.2 million).
Another noteworthy performance came from the Main 50 Index, which rose by 28.65 points to close at 8,639.05 points, reflecting an increase of 0.33 percent. This segment recorded a stock volume of 82.17 million shares traded in 5,764 deals, amounting to KWD 16.7 million (approximately USD 50.9 million).
The overall trading activity on the Kuwait Bourse indicates a mixed sentiment among investors, with certain indices demonstrating growth while others faced slight declines. As the market continues to navigate economic conditions, these developments will be closely monitored by analysts and investors alike.
