Rhythm and Vines Prepares for New Year Amid Weather Challenges
Organisers of the Rhythm and Vines festival in Gisborne are ensuring a seamless experience for attendees as the event approaches its peak. As thousands gather at the Waiohika Estate vineyard for the three-day music and camping festival, which has been a staple since its inception in 2003, the team is prepared to tackle any challenges, particularly those posed by the weather.
Despite heavy rain impacting the festival grounds last night and light rain forecast for today, festival-goers are maintaining their enthusiasm. The atmosphere remains vibrant as attendees engage in various activities, reveling in the festival’s offerings.
Kieran Spillane, the Director of Live Nation Festivals, expressed confidence in the team’s readiness as they navigate the final hours leading up to New Year’s Day. He highlighted that safety remains a top priority, with a robust security operation in place.
Safety Measures in Place for Festival Attendees
To ensure a secure environment, the festival has deployed 350 security guards across the site. Additionally, police patrols are actively monitoring the area, further enhancing the safety framework. Spillane noted the presence of 30 paramedics on standby, prepared to respond to any medical emergencies.
The festival’s commitment to safety extends to drug and alcohol management, with comprehensive breath testing protocols in place. This initiative aims to promote responsible celebrations as attendees ring in the new year.
Festival-goers can expect a variety of performances and activities that contribute to the festival’s reputation as one of the most anticipated events on the summer calendar. The atmosphere is charged with excitement as people prepare to welcome December 31, 2023, amidst a backdrop of live music and camaraderie.
As the final hours of the festival approach, the Rhythm and Vines team remains vigilant, ensuring that all necessary precautions are taken. This dedication highlights the organisers’ commitment to not only delivering an unforgettable experience but also ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
