Sean Combs Seeks Early Prison Release After 13 Months Behind Bars
Sean “Diddy” Combs is seeking an early release from prison after serving 13 months at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, New York. The 55-year-old music mogul was convicted of two counts related to transportation for the purpose of prostitution. His attorneys have submitted a sentencing packet ahead of his hearing scheduled for October 3, 2025, requesting a more lenient punishment.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the sentencing guidelines indicate that Combs could face six to twelve months in prison for each count. His legal team argues that this range would appropriately reflect the seriousness of the offenses. Combs has already spent over a year in what he describes as “horrible conditions” and has expressed his hope for a more favorable outcome.
Combs has highlighted his achievements during his time in custody, stating that he has become sober for the first time in 25 years. He claims to have inspired other inmates through a personal program, emphasizing his commitment to rehabilitation. He also noted that he has maintained an “incident-free record” while incarcerated.
In their petition, Combs’s attorneys pointed out his lack of prior criminal history and the negative impact his conviction has had on his personal and professional life. The founder of Bad Boy Records stated that the situation has been destructive to his reputation and has affected his ability to support his family. Combs has seven children and an elderly mother who rely on him for care and financial support.
As the hearing date approaches, the outcome remains uncertain. Combs’s case has drawn significant public attention, reflecting both his celebrity status and the serious nature of his convictions. The decision on his sentencing will likely have a lasting impact on his career and personal life.
