Veteran Indian Actor Pankaj Dheer Dies at 68 After Cancer Battle
Pankaj Dheer, the esteemed Indian actor renowned for his role as Karna in B.R. Chopra’s acclaimed television series *Mahabharat*, has passed away at the age of 68 after a prolonged battle with cancer. His demise was confirmed today, October 15, 2025, by the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA), which expressed deep sorrow over the loss of one of its most respected members. The cremation is scheduled for this evening at 16:30 local time in Mumbai, near Pawan Hans, Vile Parle (W).
According to family sources, Dheer had been undergoing treatment for several months and was comforted by loved ones during his final moments. The actor’s portrayal of Karna, which gained immense popularity in the late 1980s, left a lasting impression on Indian television audiences.
